Have you tried opening inventory/skills window first then trying it if it still doesnt work, can you share your save with me so i can replicate the issue on my end and fix it.

I am having the same issue, before the most recent update to the trainer the money worked.

GRB_UPP.exe is the file that is running when the game is open
atleast for uplay plus

Im lvl 10 and have gear lvl 40, and have opened up alot, but i can't get the skill points, it shoud have worked

I have finished both story missions, I am level 10 (Beta level cap?) and Gear level 40 (Beta level cap?). I am currently just grabbing the collectibles and some Blueprints here and there when the game doesn't decide to bug out. I have almost 10k Skill points, thanks to the trainer giving skillpoints rather than money and all of the skills unlocked.
